A national retailer needed a systematic inspection of their facilities.  During these visits, it was determined including a procedure to check the battery in the exit door alarm system could prevent a more costly on-demand work ticket when the battery failed.

Scope of the Work

1.  Technicians should carry a supply of 9-volt batteries when conducting preventative maintenance at each location. 

2.  Attach piece of masking tape labeled with date onto battery.

3.  Open battery case for exit alarm system and inspect battery.  Batteries older than a set timeframe should be exchanged.

1.  Typically a project meets obstacles during preparation or in delivery.  However, in this instance, the challenge of how to cut costs was the issue. This project became a solution to a client need.

Summary

By simply checking the shelf life of a battery, the client was protected against a more costly on-demand repair.  When the 9-volt battery fails, the system emits an alarm that must be turned off by an electrician.  This on-demand service cost approximately $200.  Being proactive during PM’s and having a checklist of items to inspect saves the client aggravation and expense.

1. A power source was needed for the televisions where no outlet existed.

A facility required the aluminum window mullions on the building exterior painted. What made the project scope unique is that execution needed to be completed during normal business hours.  Traditional spray equipment would be too disruptive during regular hours of operations, as the overspray could not be contained.  A durable product to prevent pealing and color fading against the elements was also a prerequisite. Resicom presented the option of using electrostatic spray equipment. The benefits of this system featuring low paint overspray and mess, cost effective use of material, and the “wrap” effect in which the paint appears to bend around corners.

An entertainment company owns movie theaters throughout the country, many of which were purchased from original owners. While each theater has unique characteristics and nostalgic styling, few meet today’s ADA compliance standards. The client needed a sliding tray installed in a ticket booth and counter access retrofitted to meet current height guidelines.

Scope of the Work

1. Install an ADA compliant sliding tray in the ticket booth to meet height requirements.

2. Position tray so that it does not alter the function of the cash drawers, ticket dispensers or computer systems.

3. Reposition access for electric and computer system wiring.

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Cabinetry within the booth needed modification to accommodate the sliding counter tray.

2. In order to install the new tray, access repositioning for computer system wiring was needed.

3. The positioning of the cash drawer itself was an obstacle.

Solutions

1. Cabinet doors were shortened to provide the additional access space under the counter top.

2. Tile work was required so that an access hole for the wiring could be cut. A diamond tip grinding wheel was used to make the precise cut needed. New grommet holes we created so that the entire system could be re-wired.

3. Although the location of the cash drawer was cumbersome, it was determined that the system could be installed underneath.

4. Once the drawer was installed a security panel was fabricated and installed to deter theft.

Summary

This specialty project was unique because each ticket booth had different specifications and measurements. The overall integrity of the booth needed to be preserved while meeting modern compliance metrics. Each retrofit required astute examination of cabinetry placement, technology systems and security issues. Providing options to the client is critical when involved in speciality projects. It should be normal that the company hired to complete the retrofit presents effective approaches for a solution.

In the competitive auto dealership environment, it makes sense to maintain optimal conditions and inviting appearances.   A client decided to overhaul their showroom with new floor tiles to maintain appearance standards.  What made the situation unique is that the client wanted the project completed within an expedited deadline that would require working during normal business hours.

Scope of Work

1. Map out grid of showroom floor.  Coordinate day-by-day action plan and schedule to rearrange cars.
2. Control sectioned work area with plastic Visqueen zip barriers.
3. Keep supplies in separate area to minimize clutter on showroom floor.  Tile is transported to sectioned areas as needed.
4. Remove existing flooring, install tile and grout.  Clean area and begin on new section.

Project Summary

Coordination is key when executing a demolition/installation project during normal business hours.  Allowances technicians normally have such as room to layout tools and supplies is greatly curtailed.  Technicians working systematically behind a plastic screen, importing materials to the work area as needed was an added challenge.  Although set/grouted tile was secure enough to walk upon the following day, it was not ready to be driven upon.  This required detailed project management of shuffling cars on the showroom floor.

How do you improve car dealership service areas that are traditionally dingy,

dark and dull?

A dealership decided that their service area misrepresented the overall brand image.  Car fumes, dirt and  open bay doors exposing the area to the elements left the service area looking dull and dingy.  The area was a stark contradiction to the bright, well-appointed showroom.   Options were needed to improve the overall appearance.  Resicom presented solutions as to how to best execute a project within the confines of these conditions while achieving the desired look.

Purchasing a shiny, new car is an exciting event.  A dealership wanted to highlight that memorable moment when the keys are turned over to the new buyer by having it occur in a special area.  The client requested the conversion of an extra mechanic bay in the service area into the new car preparation / presentation area.  Resicom’s role in the transformation was to create a new “personal” showroom.

Project Summary

A national client who relies on Resicom for routine maintenance and exterior painting called us with a critical facility emergency.  At one of the client’s retail locations, a car had driven right into front of their building, causing tremendous damage to the structure.   The store facility was now exposed to the elements, with the merchandise left unprotected.  The client needed Resicom to react expeditiously so that the store would be sealed, with the facility ready to reopen and resume business in only a few days.

1. An emergency crew had to be immediately assembled for briefing of project logistics, and to arrive onsite no later than that evening.
2. Crew had to acquire a cargo van to acquire and deliver all the proper material and tools.
3. Crew needed to remove, replace and dispose of damaged metal panels on storefront exterior.
4. Entire storefront needed to be repainted since the new panels are not the correct color.

How do you move a 400 pound eagle that doesn’t fly?

Project Summary

A client had a large concrete tree statue, with interior steel pole supports, in the middle of corporate headquarter lobby that needed to be dismantled and discarded.  However, a large, 400 lb. bronze eagle perched atop the tree holds special significance for the client and must be relocated to the new headquarters location.   Resicom is entrusted to carefully remove the eagle, deliver it to the new location, and ensure that the vacated lobby is returned to a normal condition after the removal of the focal point statue.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Dismantle and dispose of a 15 ft. decorative, concrete tree so facility is returned to neutral appearance for new tenant.
2. Detach 400 lb. eagle statue from its steel pole support and safely deliver to new location.
3. Once eagle is removed, dismantle and dispose of the 15 ft. steel support beam in the center of the tree.
4. Coordinate project execution with client representative to allow technicians access to vacated space.
5. Provide client with before & after photos of project execution.

Challenges & Solutions

The constraints of the project that were overcome included:

1. Inclement weather prevented Resicom from getting the necessary hoist for the statue down to the loading dock as snow had not been plowed.
   • Resicom arranged with the loading dock manager to use an available fork lift to transport eagle statue.  The client was updated of the situation to provide approval.
2. The client considered the eagle as symbolic to the company’s good luck, not to mention that considerable monetary expense of the statue, therefore extreme care must be taken when handling.
   • To ensure that no mishaps occurred that could possibly break or mar the statue, technicians secured the eagle to the fork lift when moving the statue.
   • Techs only demolished the concrete tree and cut down the steel pole flush to the carpet, after the eagle statue was safely delivered to the new location.
   • All remaining debris was then cleared and disposed off the premises to a pre-arranged dumpster.
3. The deadline to complete the project from point of assessment to bid confirmation to delivery to completion was compressed into only 5 days.

• As soon as scope was received, Resicom immediately dispatched technicians to perform assessment, take the necessary photos to compile a quote and presented a bid within the same day.  Resicom project management stayed in contact with the client so a representative could allow access to facility.
• Resicom had our technician crews on stand-by to be ready for project delivery at a moment’s notice as soon as bid was approved.
• Upon work completion, before and after photos, including photos of statue at new location were immediately sent to client.  Resicom completed the entire project prior to the 5 day deadline.

With so many customers sad to see Nemo go, restoring normalcy also meant operating with a certain level of discretion.  Aside form the emotional element, sourcing materials and scheduling within the allotted time added to the complication.  However, because Resicom is able to leverage our business structure, we can successfully manage and execute projects regardless of how unusual specifications may seemingly appear.  Approaching with a team effort of trained technicians and detail-oriented project management, we were able to deliver a turn 2 night project into 1 night- along with the disclaimer “no fish were hurt in the process”.

1. Assess the weight the pegs must bear to safely support the surf boards.
2. Secure slipping/ tilting pegs.  Repair and replace any damaged pegs.

1. Pegs holding surfboard can not be accessed with taking apart the backwrap.

1. • Resicom sends an experienced carpenter to assess a local job to so that a national project scope can be developed.

1. Prior peg costly repairs required sections of the backwrap to be removed and then welded back into place.  Client needs a more cost effective solution.

1. • Resicom’s technician suggests alternative option of removing the 2×6 beam that holds the peg, securing new peg, and using new washers & nuts over the threaded end of the peg to ensure tightness. This cost effective solution does not require disassembling the backwrap or welding.
   • Repairs normally taking overnight because of disassembly and welding have been reduced to only 30 minutes.

A retail client installed new metal doors to withstand the harsh winters of New York.  However, upon completion of the installation, it was brought to the client’s attention that a particular ordinance in the East Village area prohibits metal doors to maintain historical appearance guidelines.  All entryways needed to be swapped with wood framed doors by month’s end, or the client would have defaulted to the landlord contracting the installation company of his choice at the client’s expense.  Resicom needed to devise an expeditious solution to alleviate the client’s frustration and shut the door on this particular pain.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Complete entire project including sourcing material and installation within 5 days.
2. Visit the site to measure doors, noting parking and accessibility for the area.
3. Conduct reconnaissance in the area to determine selection of current door types being used.

2. The style of door needed is only manufactured in Atlanta, Georgia and cannot be shipped within the time constraints.
   • The doors were ordered immediately and scheduled for pick up in two days.
   • Resicom flew our technician to Atlanta, Georgia. We then rented a cargo van enabling the assisting technician to pick up the doors personally and drive to New York.
   • Lead installation technician flies directly to New York to conduct the installation.

   • The crew systematically worked in marked off sections to have the least impact on the customers’ ability to access merchandise and move through the store.
2. Painting the cash wrap area without disrupting transactions.
   • Entrance and cash wraps were painted before opening and prior to close to minimize impact.
3. Materials supplied was short several gallons of paint.
   • Project manager communicated shortage to store manager, then sourced paint needed from another location for next day delivery.
4. Removal of the hardware from bathroom focal walls was time consuming.

How can preventative maintenance secure the small details?

Project Summary

Facility cabinet doors are opened and closed repeatedly throughout the day causing  considerable wear and tear on hinges.  Even the highest quality cabinet doors become damaged or misaligned when repeatedly pulled down or leaned against.  When completing routine preventative maintenance runs, Resicom is relied upon to identify potential areas for failure and make the necessary repairs to keep facilities running normally.

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Complete assessments to all cabinet doors when onsite completing maintenance visit to the locations.
2. Secure all loose hinges to properly align doors.
3. Assess weight of door to determine if the existing hinges are appropriate to secure door.
4. Determine if additional hinges and/or metal backing needs to be installed to withstand the constant wear and tear on door.
5. Complete repairs as needed.
6. Update client on repairs completed to each location.

1. Cabinet doors are assessed at each facility to determine the appropriate repairs to be done

• First assessment is to locate the source of a sagging and misaligned door.  The Majority of repairs address a screw that simply needs to be tightened.
• The next assessment is to determine if the weight of the door is too heavy to rely on only two hinges.  A third hinge can be installed with a specific tool to help reduce the weight stress on the door.

2. Hinges sometimes rip away from door causing damage to the door itself.

• If the hinge has already been pulled out from the cabinet door, a patch repair is completed and a metal plate is installed over the patch to allow for more security, then the hinge is reinstalled.

Summary

Resicom executed precise steps of preventative maintenance and repair to ensure the longevity of the cabinet doors and minimize future damage.   Value is delivered to the client from not having to worry about small details that break and fail, aggravating the normal flow of the facility.  By creating and implementing an ongoing preventative maintenance program, Resicom delivers normalcy.

A client needed Resicom to think outside the box and develop a solution to installing circulation fans at a retail kiosk.

Project Overview

A retail client requested assistance in creating a plan for a fan installation rollout for retail kiosks.  The fans would need to be installed at the four corners to provide proper ventilation. Resicom asked the questions to provide clarity to the client’s objectives.  By taking the time to understand the client’s desired outcome and projected brand, we developed options that best fit our client’s needs.  Then we exercised systematic process tests to determine which options would prove successful for our client.

1. The client was unfamiliar with what type of fan was needed and left sourcing the product to our discretion.  Resicom needed to research various proper fans to determine cost effectiveness and durability.

• Research was executed with fans ranging from battery operated to electronic.  Resicom invested in the purchase of several fans ranging in size and style to determine options for the best fit for the designated area.
• Battery fans were determined to be ineffective in regard to cost as extended retail hours would demand frequent battery replacement.  Although less expensive to initially purchase, the maintenance costs would quickly outweigh any initial savings.
• A second-round test was completed with electric fans.  The electrical fans would require additional labor on the front end to install the necessary outlets.  However, the use of electrical fans would be more cost effective and require less frequent maintenance.
• Resicom presented the options, then scheduled approved work orders with our technician crews.

Summary

Resicom was able to take a client’s cursory idea of what their existing need and develop a detailed plan of action.  By researching innovative solutions for our client, we determined what would be cost effective and ultimately a success.

Resicom sources elusive stone to replace storefront bases.

Project Overview

A client requested Resicom to source and install their storefront stone bases which had deteriorated over the years due to element exposure.  A particular source of pain for the client was the fact that the stone bases with limestone tile had been acquired years prior, and the local supplier no longer carried the necessary materials. Resicom would have to locate the material, then implement the installation plan.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Source replacement material for limestone tile bases.
2. Install new storefront limestone bases.
3. Remove and dispose of the old, deteriorating stone.

Challenges & Solutions

The constraints of the project that were overcome included:

1. Sourcing the material.
   • Resicom contacted the original supplier to negotiate a contract to have the materials custom-made since it was no longer in production.
2. Prohibitive shipping costs due to the weight and amount of the material.
   • To reduce shipping costs and transfer savings to the client, Resicom had our own technicians drive to acquire the material.  Using our own crew to transport the stone only cost half of what it would have cost to ship.
3. Matching the existing mortar.
   • Our technician traveled to local suppliers to successfully match the existing mortar prior to installation.
4. Since not all existing limestone tiles were being replaced, only stone that was worn and damaged, the surrounding tiles must not be damaged.
   • The technician was able to remove the damaged tiles without disrupting surrounding tiles using specialized chiseling tools, and relying on his expertise and patience.

Summary

On the surface, the project seemed daunting since the material needed was not readily available.  However, Resicom is confident in its ability to create solutions and develop an executable process for various facility challenges.

Broken, sharp weatherstripping prompts on-demand maintenance.

Project Summary

A set of storefront doors were were down-right dangerous with an exposed, jagged piece of broken weatherstripping.   Although the metal had been installed to lessen the gap between the doors to keep the harsh weather out, it was now a safety concern to anyone entering the store.  The client needed their facility returned to normal condition- immediately.  By leveraging our business structure, Resicom was able to respond to the on-demand request and complete the necessary repairs within 24 hours.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Assess store and determine the extent of the problem with the broken weatherstripping.
2. Discuss with management the best time to repair to limit disruption to guests and staff.
3. Remove sharp piece of metal and smooth out remaining surface.
4. Clean door area and ensure that no other potential safety risks exist.

Challenges & Solutions

The constraints of the project that were overcome included:

1. Expediting on-demand response and execution.
   • The on-demand request needed technicians to report onsite within 1 hr to assess and determine the extent of the repairs.  A technician would then need to return no later than the following morning to complete the work.  Our home office was able to reorganize the master schedule so that a technician would be available to handle the emergency call.
2. All repairs must be completed prior to noon the next day before the fire marshall scheduled for inspection was due onsite.
   • Our technicians completed the work prior to store opening since traffic could not be redirected, but would in fact need to use the damaged doors.  The work had to be flawlessly executed being located in such a highly visible area so as not to compromise the client’s standards and brand.
3. Completed work must in no way affect the security system on the main entry doors.
   • As these doors were the main entrance, all work needed to be precisely completed to avoid any disruption to the security system.

Project Summary

A client needed an oversized table replaced throughout their facilities since the state of the current tables no longer met acceptable standards.  The mass of the table- weighing over 500 pounds and the cumbersome dimensions, made removal of the existing table and replacement difficult.  Resicom was able to break-down possible options to literally break down the tables, and create a solution for this monster move that was time efficient and cost effective for the client.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Install newly delivered table into the proper spot in the store.
2. Dispose of the old table.

Challenges & Solutions

The constraints of the project that were overcome included:

1. The dimension of the table
   • To remove the old table, a plastic encasement was made and the old table was cut into pieces to make for easy removal.
   • To position the new table, all fixtures between the store entrance and the designated spot needed to be moved. 
2. Avoiding damage to the floor
   • A moving blanket was used to protect the floor during the transfer of the table from dollies to floor.   
3. Fitting the table through doors
   • We needed to coordinate with mall management to use a main mall entrance with double doors so that the table could be brought into the front store opening rather than the restrictive service entrance.  
   • Once in the store,  the table needed to be lifted by 4 men and put onto 4 moving carts.

Project Summary

A client needed an oversized fixture moved from one facility to another one in another state. The challenge was to move this large, fragile object hundreds of miles and get it operational in the new location within a day, keeping the location in normal condition. We were able to plan and solve this challenge, saving the client the costs of the downtime. We did this by properly preparing the piece from shipping, getting it loaded so that it would be easy to deliver, and coordinating the multiple technicians to be on-site upon delivery.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Move a Dream-Steamer from one location in Illinois to another location in Minnesota.
2. Disconnect and cap off all water lines to the Dream Steamer.
3. Reconnect and ensure proper function once delivered to new location.

Challenges & Solutions

The constraints of the project that were overcome included:

1. Securing a vehicle large enough to accommodate the fixture. 
   • A large box truck was secured and the Dream Steamer was turned on its side.  We were able to immobilize the fixture so it would not be damaged during transit.
2. An experienced plumber was needed onsite to assist in the removal and capping of the plumbing.
   • Home office coordinated professional plumbers and moving crew technicians to arrive simultaneously to address capping at the originating city and re-installation at the destination city.
3. A minimum of a 2-man crew utilizing lifting straps was required to move the fixture because of its weight and fragility.

Sun-faded, weather-beaten, and just plain old- the awnings on a client’s storefront facility were desperately in need of replacement.  The client was concerned that the faded awning would not lend itself to a successful color match for the replacement specifications.  Since the client was located across the country from the facility and would not be able to approve the material match in person, they would have to rely on photos to review the color choices.  Resicom needed to be able to solve the challenge of not only replacing the awnings, but providing a level of communication that empowered the client to make the best decision given the options.      

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Retail client wants their storefront awning replaced because it is sun- faded and worn. 
2. Client does not possess original specifications of awning material or color, only brand name. 
3. Client wants before and after photos to confirm the replacement awning matches the original taking into account that the original color is faded.    

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Client does not have a spec for the awning, so exact color cannot easily be sourced.
2. Awning is faded from the sun so attempting to color match from the original is difficult.
3. Client wants to confirm the color matches before we put the new awning up, but are located across the country from where the job is being completed.

Solution

Resicom understood that clear communication with the client would be critical to the project’s success.  Resicom would have to create solutions on how to source the exact awning replacement to alleviate the client’s dilemma.  

Our solution to this project included:

1. Technicians are dispatched to assess the awning, and transport it to an awning company to determine brand and possible color match.
2. Since color is faded, color match is confirmed on the underside of the unfaded material.  
3. Replacement awning is ordered along with swatch of sample fabric of new material for fabric detail confirmation.
4. When product arrives, technicians take photos of the underside of the awning (in the sun) compared to the new awning (in the same light/sun) to demonstrate match. 
5. Photos and material swatch are sent to the client for approval. 
6. After client reviews photo comparisons and fabric and approves color, technician returns for installation at facility. 
7. Before and after photos are taken showing the installation and how the new awning looks in the sun and photos are sent to the client

Summary

Resicom was able to alleviate the client’s aggravation from having to determine the awning specification and contacting various awning manufacturers.  By assuming responsibility to source and send samples of the material, Resicom helped return normalcy to the client’s busy schedule.  Resicom  leveraged our communication skills to provide information to the client who was thousands of miles away from the job site.  This enabled the client to be confident that the awning would look exactly as planned before work began.    

A new client was in need of repairs to hair dryer units located throughout their nationwide facilities.  Resicom had not previously worked with this particular request or project scope.  However, being a solutions-generating company, Resicom recognized the opportunity to expand our knowledge base in specialty project management.   

Scope

The scope of work is:

1. Conduct monthly visits to beauty salon facilities and complete repair/maintenance assessment at each location.
2. Verify all salon equipment, including chair hair dryers and wall-mount dryers are operational.  
3. Determine if salon equipment can be repaired or needs to be replaced entirely.
4. Generate scope and detailed information for client on all maintenance and necessary equipment repairs. 
5. Upon client scope approval, schedule and execute work. 

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. Technicians on staff had no expertise or background in completing repairs to hair dryer units.
2. Manufacturer of hair dryer units was inaccessible for informational support.
3. Multiple contractors were enlisted ranging from electricians to small appliance repair companies to repair units without success.  

Solution

The traditional channels available to us for informational support were either inaccessible or unfamiliar with how to repair the units.  Resicom needed to devise an alternate solution on how to gather the necessary information to make the maintenance project a success.    

Our solutions to this project included: 

1. Assuming similar locations have also experienced breakdowns to the hair dryer units, Resicom began calling salons in the different areas for possible service referrals.   
2. Generated leads were contacted, and local small appliance repair technicians with the necessary knowledge and capabilities on repairing these hair dryer units were located. 
3. Resicom continued efforts to contact the manufacturer via corporate offices, showroom studios, and different regions to secure additional information and procedure on how to order repair parts.  
4. Once the manufacturer connected with Resicom, a troubleshooting list for future repairs was generated.  

After being persistent on follow up calls, a phone call was returned from the manufacturer. We were provided all information regarding parts on these units and were also given troubleshooting ideas for future repairs that may be needed. This would come of great help for training of our in house technicians to learn how to repair these units for future repairs down the road.

Summary

Preventative maintenance becomes routine, so when challenges present themselves, Resicom teams are eager to learn from the experience.  Although, we have never serviced hair dryer units before, Resicom felt capable in our abilities and project management strength.  The information gained was compiled for future repairs and similar clients needing Resicom’s assistance in generating solutions to facility maintenance challenges.

To get life back to normal for our facility maintenance manager partners sometimes means not working normal hours.  Resicom often completes retail preventative maintenance overnight to limit disruption to guests and staff.  However, gaining access to a retail facility after hours needs to be thoroughly coordinated with the client and often a security third party.  Store managers are anxious to head home after a full day’s work, but Resicom is just beginning ours.    

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Scope of preventative maintenance work is scheduled for after-hours execution. 
2. Third party security is coordinated within 48 hours of the scheduled job.
3. Resicon crew & security must be onsite 15 minutes prior to store closing to meet store manager. 
4. Security must remain on premises with Resicom crew until morning opening manager returns to facility.  

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Coordinating security to arrive on set date of project schedule. 
2. Security fails to show up prior to store closing time. 

Solution

In order to effectively execute the work order, Resicom technicians need to be assured that home support has procured necessary security and is effectively managing the project.   We can not allow our clients to be inconvenienced waiting for tardy security.  Resicom relies on our tried and true process when obstacles present themselves. 

Our solution to this project included:

1. Project Manager confirms security with client approved company via email within 48 hour window of scheduled maintenance.
2. Crews are instructed to call Resicom emergency phone by store closing time if guard has not arrived onsite.  
3. Resicom home office employee on-call status maintains master list of all after hours jobs, including pertinent information on which security company/crew is scheduled per site. 
4. On-Call Employee will call the security company to ascertain guard’s expected arrival time to coordinate prior to store manager leaving as that project does not need to be rescheduled. 

Summary

Resicom delivers normalcy, but there is nothing normal about a client who works a full day at a retail facility only to have to remain even longer waiting for security to arrive for the overnight maintenance crew.  Therefore, Resicom simply refuses to allow our clients to be inconvenienced waiting for security running late.  By having set procedures in place to account for hiccups when scheduling third party security, Resicom can rely on the necessary process to keep the project running smoothly.

Scope

The scope of work is:

1. Remove, replace, rotate rugs on a wood floor in retail locations.
2. Any adhesive remaining on floor must be removed with client specified solvent.
3. Paint on wood floor can not be damaged during the adhesive removal process.
4. Photos must be sent to the client detailing before and after project execution.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. The required solvent is distributed to a minimal amount of local distributors, yet Resicom needed nationwide product availability to coincide with the necessary project locations.
2. Solvent supplier only sells in quantities of 6 bottles per case.  However, the project scope outlines that technicians need only a small amount from one bottle per job.   (1 bottle could last the technician years)
3. Product shipping is difficult due to regulations prohibiting chemicals compounds being sent via conventional shipping methods. 
4. Substitution solvents that have been attempted to remove the adhesive damage the painted floor, therefore there are no alternative suggestions for a replacement product. 

Solution

We understood to execute this project and save time and money for the client, we would need to do extensive research and planning to find out the best way to expedite sourcing this material in the most cost effective manner.

1. Project Manager gathers available information on the required solvent, then researches manufacturers and current suppliers.   
2. When it is determined that the availability of local suppliers is scarce, Resicom attempts a direct purchase through the manufacturer. 
3. Resicom orders a case of solvent and interacts with a local shipping company on how to effectively package the product to enable shipment compliance with inter-state legislation.  
4. Projects requiring the solvent are shipped 1 bottle directly, and only a small percentage of the cost of the material and shipping is applied to overall project budgets.  
5. Technicians apply the necessary solvent to  remove the adhesive from the wood floor.  and take before and after photos showing the paint did not come up as well
6. Before and after photos demonstrating that the painted floor was in no way damaged are sent to the client.  
7. Those photos will be sent to the client, and they will not have to worry about sending material or high price costs on material/shipping.

Summary

Resicom understood the importance of using the client’s required solution so that the painted floors would not be damaged during the adhesive removal.   We quickly researched the product and leveraged communication to work directly with the manufacturer.  By researching options, rather than simply incurring expensive material and shipping costs for our client,  Resicom was able to effectively manage the project and execute a successful outcome. 

Communication is a key component to company success- both internally and with clients.  After reading a thought-provoking resource book regarding why corporate America often falls short by having the wrong length and types of meetings, Resicom adopted an initiative to revamp our structure.  Resicom team members are located throughout the country, yet communication must be streamlined between all levels of the team.  We needed to ensure team members are informed, and directed toward common goals each day through these meetings.

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Develop a meeting outline detailing who would be included in the new meeting structure.
2. Finalize times for each meeting to avoid department conflict and overlap.   
3. Track notes for each meeting in a place with company-wide visibility.

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Create a format all company members can embrace and maintain.
2. Team members are located in 3 of the 4 US time zones.
3. Tracking the schedule and notes to provide visibility to participants while restricting access to confidential information. 
4. Ensuring that rollout of the new meeting structure is not disruptive to employees’ routine, and increases motivation and productivity. 

Solution

We understood that the rollout of the new meeting structure would benefit the company greatly, therefore, employee input was incorporated to elicit the greatest buy-in.  We alloted sufficient time to create, refine and audit the process.  We ensured that the entire meeting initiative was in alignment with our core value of “clear, courageous communication.” 

Our solution to this project included:

1. Various applications from the reference book were discussed during a company wide staff meeting with everyone in attendance. 
2. A synopsis outlining each meeting type being explored was compiled including information on why each type of meeting was needed and the benefits to the company.  
3. A chart detailing the new meeting structure, times and participants was developed and distributed to all employees.  
4. The meeting system was incorporated into a robust and dynamic computer application already utilized company-wide.  
5. Attendance was tracked to encourage contribution and build routine. 

Summary

After two months traction with the new meeting system, Resicom noticed significantly positive results.  Teams experience better company unification and clarification in daily activities.  Inter-department communication has increased resulting in positive transparency.  Obstacles are identified quickly at the beginning of the day and addressed to boost individual productivity.  Larger issues requiring more focused discussion are tackled during weekly tactical or project meetings, which frees up the day from overwhelming distractions.  Resicom possessed a solid communication structure 2 months ago, but this improved system has led to a world-class communication system.  

Proper vehicles maintenance is something people don’t always consider until something goes wrong or a strange rattle starts.  However, a business can’t afford the downtime from out-of service vehicles because maintenance was overlooked or delayed.  Resicom’s entire fleet must be readily available so that our technicians can respond on short notice to the emergency and preventative maintenance facility needs of our clients.  To ensure no vehicles miss routine service, Resicom developed a detailed procedure to monitor the longevity, reliability, and safety of our fleet.   

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. A mechanic must be secured and pricing is negotiated for consistent, standard maintenance including oil changes, tune ups, rotation of tires, etc.
2. Vehicles must be logged into company database with all pertinent information including make, model, VIN#, license plates and all prior maintenance history.
3. A checkout procedure including inspection and recording starting mileage must be created when vehicle is assigned to a driver.
4. Upon return of vehicle, a post checkout procedure must be developed to assess condition of returned vehicle and mileage. 

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Coordinating the drop off and pick up of vehicles at mechanic.
2. Ensuring that drivers are notifying us of all issues regarding the vehicles that are not visibly noticeable.
3. Time span between projects utilizing fleet vehicles is condensed making quick-turnaround maintenance a necessity.

Solution

The key to the effective service of our fleets is to contract a reliable mechanic, and to keep detailed and accurate records of each vehicle’s history.    

Our solution to this project included:

1. A local, reliable mechanic is chosen in close proximity to our headquarter to facilitate convenient drop off and pick up of vehicles. 
2. Mileage is checked in and out on a regular basis and appointments are scheduled in advance for all oil changes or maintenance needs.
3. During inspections drivers are provided a written checklist including items such as faulty brakes, tire issues, cracked windshield, etc. to ensure such issues are reported. 
4. Returned inspections requiring service are scheduled immediately before the vehicle is reserved for the next work project.
5. A reserve mechanic is located when our primary provider is unavailable to expedite maintenance turnaround.

Preventive Maintenance is a standard term at Resicom and what drives our business.  However, it is not only a definition we understand to meet our clients’ needs, it is also an integral part of our internal processes.   We strive to prevent failure before it occurs so it is imperative that our vehicle fleet remains in optimal condition.  This prevents the possibility of costly repairs due to procrastinated maintenance and downtime of productivity when vehicles are inoperable.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Dispatch a Resicom technician to secure the stockroom door to it’s hinges.
2. Repairs needed to be completed as quickly as possible as the door is the only barrier between customers and the stock room.
3. Before and after photos must be submitted to the client by the deadline. 

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. The nature of a an emergency work order dictates that technicians must arrive at the store with all necessary tools and repair items within 24 hours.  
2. When the technician arrives onsite and examines the problem, it is discovered that the door is not just off its hinges, but is also cracked down the middle.
3. The job evolves from a simple rehang to a complete overhaul repair of the door.
4. Client does not have any spec for wood and/or paint color of the door.

Solution

The Resicom technician needed to rely upon his expertise and training to evaluate the situation and then adjust the scope of execution.  Meeting the clients needs, to repair the door regardless of the physical problem, required Resicom’s ability to improvise and react quickly to unforeseen challenges.  

Our solution to this project included:

1. Technician gathers necessary information including measurements and door chip to match paint.  
2. Technician provides a temporary repair until replacement door is ready for install, and re-hinges cracked door so stock room is blocked from customers.   
3. Client is notified that the door needs to be replaced and submits quote for door fabrication and installation.  
4. Technician takes chip of door to a local hardware and paint store to match.
5. Replacement door is cut to size and painted to match original.
6. Door is transported to the store completely intact ready for hardware install.
7. Technician arrives at the retail location before they open in the morning, re-uses the same hinges and hardware and installs new door.
8. Old, broken door is removed and disposed off-site. 
9. Before and after photos are taken and sent to the client for approval.

Summary

In a perfect world, emergency work orders proceed smoothly and everything goes according to plan.  However, in facility maintenance there are often unexpected hiccups.  Service providers must be able to react quickly, and effectively revise a project scope to overcome unforeseen obstacles.   Resicom’s operations team drew upon their expertise and experience to assess the new situation.  Our client did not have to concern themselves that the work order would not be successfully executed simply because the specifications needed to be adjusted.  Resicom helps return normalcy to our clients by providing a level of confidence that challenges are being managed smartly. 

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Secure the furniture to the wood flooring.
2. Design a solution that meet’s the clients needs to be both visually appealing and cost effective.  
3. Complete 30 stores in 30 days once solution is determined and approved.
4. Each store has a set budget of 850 dollars. 

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Devising a restraint system for the furniture that is neither a tripping hazard nor visible. 
2. Scheduling 30 stores in 30 consecutive days, and factoring travel timelines as stores are located throughout the country.
3. Work must be completed overnight to minimize disruption to customers and staff. 
4. Target budget of $850 per store can not be exceeded. 
5. The product determined to secure the furniture is currently backordered.

Solution

In order to make this project a success, Resicom needed to not only execute the required maintenance, but first devise the creative solution to solve the client’s fixture challenge.

Our solution to this project included:

1. Installation of metal pegs into the legs of the chair and ottoman which are then anchored into the floor to prevent the chair from sliding and scraping.  
2. Once installed inside the chair legs, pegs are no longer visible.  
3. A tether is installed to help prevent theft.
4. A two man crew is scheduled to travel to all 30 stores assembled to travel the country to complete assembly.
5. Resicom contacted the parts supplier and arranged a pre-payment agreement to expedite prompt production and delivery.

Summary

Resicom was able to draw upon our team to develop a creative solution, and then field test a series of possibilities in our training/lab center to then provide thorough information so the client could choose the option that best fit their needs.  Resicom relies upon our method of standard, process, audit to compile the necessary information, process, and then communicated that knowledge into options.  Finding innovative solutions helps return normalcy (a level of confidence that challenges are being managed smartly) to our clients.

A retail client wanted to changeout their existing store fixtures with updated, new tables.  Resicom was relied upon to build the new tables, properly install the new fixtures, and remove old, damaged tables.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Receive new tables from manufacturer and inspect to ensure shipment is received in excellent condition.
2. Remove existing worn and damaged tables.
3. Assemble and install all new tables.  
4. Dispose of old tables.  

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. Unloading tables is time consuming because of large, awkward packaging.  
2. Retail merchandise must be moved from old fixture to new with no disruption to layout and visual display. 
3. The dumpster was not located in close proximity to store, requiring all debris to be carted through the back hallways of mall.

Solution

For this project to be successful, Resicom needed to deliver normalcy to the client by swapping the old tables for new without disrupting staff and merchandise.   

Our solution to this project included:  

1. Dollies and moving carts were used to expedite the easy exchange of old tables for new.
2. Pictures of the merchandise on the existing table were taken for reference.  After tables were assembled, merchandise was returned to tables according to exact visual display. 
3. Coordinating the positioning of the dumpster to be situated as close as possible to the mall saved on loading debris into a truck and bringing to an offsite dump.

Summary

Resicom delivered normalcy to the client by swapping the old tables for new without disrupting staff and merchandise.  The worn tables were distracting the shopping experience by drawing attention to the disrepair.  The new tables ensured that the customers do not necessarily notice upon what the merchandise was displayed, but rather- focus on the merchandise itself.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project includes:

1. Replace the entire floor in both the sales and stockroom area.  
2. Source the necessary material and coordinate delivery to the store location.  
3. Material must be an exact replacement of the existing floor. 
4. Installation must commence in two weeks, and must be completed in 3 nights so that business is not affected. 

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. A Resicom Project Manager needed to be immediately assigned to the project due to the condensed timeline.  
2. The project is taking place in Oklahoma City, OK.
3. The material is not available in the United States.  
4. In order to complete an installation of this magnitude we will need 5 trained employees working all night for all three nights.
5. Working within budget to be cost effective for our client.

Solution

Understanding the client and knowing their expectations is the key to effective project execution.   Resicom needed to follow a detailed process with a strong team of reliable technicians in order for this project to be a success. 

Our solution to this project included:

1. Adjusting the necessary manpower to ensure a thorough team and disciplined manager is available for the duration of the project. 
2. Immediately researching hotel room rates, flights and rental card to secure the best rates.  
3. Secure a skilled, licensed floor installer and utilizing our Resicom Community Partners to complete the majority of the installation. 
4. We leveraged our supplier contacts to network and locate the necessary materials in London saving valuable time by not having to randomly call companies overseas. 
5. Establishing payment terms with our partners for discounts when invoices are paid within 5 to 10 days to help lower the overall cost to the client. 

Summary

At Resicom we understand the frustrations that a client may experience within their stores to maintain high standards and brand protection.  Finding innovative solutions to help return normalcy to our client’s day is what Resicom strives to do.  The client should not have to concern themselves with details when Resicom puts our project management and execution plans into action.  The client was able to give us the green light and return to examine their beautiful new floor.   

A client needed a painting rollout completed on 90 locations in 30 days. 

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute the project included:

1. Paint 90 gas stations across two states.
2. Work needs to be completed in 30 days and needs to start the 1st of the month. 
3. Each location has a list of certain items to be completed with a priority level of order associated with each. 
4. Each store has a pre-determined budget.
5. If for any reason cost may exceed the pre-determined budget, the client must be contacted to review and approve the new costs.
6. Specific client approved paint and color scheme must be followed. 
7. Supply the client with detailed updates including photos to ensure compliance. 

Challenges

The constraints of the project include:

1. Organizing and scheduling crews for 90 stores in the 30 day timeframe.
2. Ordering the proper materials within a 3 day turnaround.
3. Educating all crews on the scope of work and properly equipping all crews with correct paints.
4. Weather contingency plans must be determined.

Solution

When a project has such a restrictive time schedule, thorough planning is crucial.  The tendency to immediately jump into execution can actually be a project’s downfall.  Instead, by having a calculated outline and specific plans to deal with inclement weather, we were able to complete the entire painting project within the specified timeframe. 

Our solution to this project included:

1. All projects are entered on a master calendar so that the appropriate crew members and supervisors can be dispatched.
2. Suppliers are contacted to order the necessary paint specs.
3. Time is set aside for all crew members to educate and brief the team on the scope of work and to explain the procedures for paperwork and updates to client.
4. Back up crews are organized and put on stand-by in the event of inclement weather.
5. Crews are in constant communication with an office based contact so that budget is tracked.    If a particular store is nearing the “do not exceed amount” the Home Office support contacts the client to explain the necessary cost.  
6. Each crew is provided a digital camera in supply the client with updates and a visual progress report.  

Summary

Resicom is a thinking company that is committed to developing effective project planning before beginning a single step of execution.  By taking time to formulate our strategy and creating contingency plans, Resicom can guarantee a project’s overall success, an also minimize wasteful and excess spending. 

A client felt that discarded, blackened gum stuck to the brick outside their high-end retail facility was beginning to compromise their aesthetic standards and consequently their  brand.  Resicom was contacted to effectively remove the gum without damaging the brick.   

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Remove all gum and tar from brick at 3 separate entrances.
2. Research cleaning solvent and/ or methods to effectively remove gum without damaging or discoloring brick.

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. The gum was old and had hardened making removal extremely difficult. 
2. The brick is porous and extreme care had to be taken to not damage the brick.
3. Scraping off the gum and using certain cleaning products could permanently discolor or possibly chip the brick.

Solution

Resicom was able to leverage knowledge from our team of experts to research and then create a process on how to effectively remove the gum without damaging the brick surface. 

Our solution to the project included:

1. Allow the product to sit for several minutes to dislodge gum. 
2. Using a pressure washer to not only remove all gum remnants, but also clean the brick.
3. Manually scrubbing in between cracks of the bricks to be sure that all gum is removed. 

Summary 

Although Resicom had not previously executed a brick/ gum removal work order, we were confident in our ability to execute an effective project using our tried and true standard- process- audit.  Resicom gathered the necessary information from our in-house experts so that we did not waste valuable time in trial and error methods.  Resicom understands that poor planning leads to poor execution, so we invest the necessary energy to develop a well-detailed plan.

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Complete a storefront repaint with a new paint spec during regular business hours.

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. Keeping the store entrance unencumbered of equipment and clear for customers’ passage.
2. Ensure a safe and unobtrusive work environment for both customers and technicians.
3. Prevent overspray on any surfaces that are not to be painted.

Solution

By outlining a specific structure to our project approach, we were able to maximize the small window of time in the morning before the facility opened to paint high traffic areas.  

Our solution to the project included: 

1. The storefront entrance was painted first, utilizing the grace period in the morning before customers were present.
2. Cones and construction zone tape were utilized to prohibit customers from the work areas.
3. Areas were prepped and covered with plastic and drops to protect all non-painted surfaces.

Summary

Because Resicom relies on standard – process – audit to effectively manage and execute deliverables, we were able to apply those same principles to a modified project and still achieve effective results.  Though specifications and circumstances may change for various projects, Resicom’s systematic execution works- day or night. 

As part of our preventative maintenance plans with national retailers, Resicom must stock speciality paints that can be efficiently delivered to various job site throughout the country without disrupting project deadlines.  To ensure that our crews are not without the necessary materials, Resicom developed a process to maximize our inventory levels without incurring added cost.

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Create an assessment form to track rotating inventory and amount of paint required for projects. 
2. Create schedule where paint is ordered from supplier with enough lead time for delivery. 
3. Transfer paint to smaller container for cost effective shipping, and to minimize waste.  
4. Finalize shipment of paint to scheduled job site.  

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. If paint is ordered too close to project start time, lead time on delivery can be upwards of a week pushing back entire project deadline.
2. Having paint shipped directly from supplier to job-site adds significant costs.   
3. Amount of paint required must be estimated accurately to avoid financial waste of paint that is discarded at the end of a project.   

Solution

Creating a process by which we can meet our material demands without disrupting project deadlines was critical to efficient and cost effective project management.  Our solution to this project included:

1. Preemptively order required speciality paint in bulk so it is on hand at home office/warehouse.
2. Creating a planned schedule so that costs are minimized by not having to ship last minute, and shipping in bulk.   
3. Transferring paint into smaller containers than five gallon buckets.  

Resicom is a process driven company.  By having an organized, established process for how we handle our material needs, Resicom is able to boost overall project management efficiency and transfer cost savings onto our clients.

Resicom is relied upon for all types of emergency maintenance.  But usually emergency is defined as a broken fitting room door, or a damaged cash wrap, maybe an overnight leak.  However, in this instance, Resicom was contacted to assist facilities in their preparation against a pending category 5 Hurricane fast approaching the coast of Southern Florida.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Protect our clients’ property with preventative measures against possible hurricane damage and to keep subsequent water out of the stores.
2. Measures must be completed within 24 hours in meet our clients expectations and beat the storm.
3. Budget has been set at 4K per store. 
4. There are 35 stores in Southern Florida that need to be protected.  

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. The area requiring service is located 1,200 miles from Resicom’s home office. 
2. Resicom was contacted the day before we needed to be onsite.
3. All flights into this region had been cancelled or postponed due to the approaching hurricane and weather advisory.
4. Resicom could only arrange a small crew of 5 men available to travel immediately. 
5. Hotel rooms were extremely limited in the area.
6. Materials in the area were difficult to obtain as commercial properties and private residents increased demand significantly for lumber and other hurricane protection supplies.

Solution

The success of this particular project would rely on our ability to react swiftly and create a solid plan of action.  In this case, the deadline was completely inflexible with no margin for delay as we were not racing against a client specified deadline, but against nature itself.  

Our solution to this project included: 

1. Our most effective manager/supervisor was pulled from his current role in order to manage the crews and project execution.
2. We contacted local technicians to increase the necessary man power estimated to complete the job.
3. All airlines and airports were investigated to determine which closest city was still allowing arriving flights.  We reserved car rental to drive the remaining distance to schedule job sites. 
4. A separate project manager with purchasing capability is also dispatched to oversee budget and expenses for the job.
5. Local supply houses are immediately contacted that day in order to secure the material needed to complete the project.
6. Documentation and photos are compiled by the office support staff to illustrate to our client what exactly we did to protect their property.

Summary

When Resicom was contacted to orchestrate a major emergency preparation project, we never debated if the task was possible.  By starting from a position of not “can we complete the job” but “what steps do we take to complete the job” we are able to make the impossible possible by executing a thorough plan. 

A national client for whom we usually provide planned preventative and emergency maintenance experienced an emergency carpentry need when the local vendor usually contracted to handle such situations was unavailable to complete the necessary repairs.  The client entrusted Resicom to provide an exemplary local vendor to perform the work order.  Because of the established, loyal partnership between the client and ourselves, Resicom accepted the responsibility and assured the client it would be completed within the scheduled timeframe and to our client’s high standards. 

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Review work order to determine materials needed for project completion.  
2. Educate the dispatched technician on the exact process and expectations of our client. 
3. Audit the job to confirm our high standards were executed.  

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. The emergency job occurred in a location area we have never serviced.
2. Locate an exceptional local vendor to complete this work to client’s high standards within a short time frame and set budget established.
3. Confirm work was complete without physically visiting the location.  

Solution

We understood that the execution of this particular emergency job would take more time and planning than the usual emergency work order from our client.  However, because we have established thorough training modules and exact processes for all technicians, we could be be confident in our ability that the project would be executed to the client’s high standards.

Our solution to this project included:

1. The accepted work order is assigned to a home office project manager. 
2. Located exceptional vendor referrals, utilizing contacts in the project city for recommendations.  
3. A short list of vendors is generated that then participate in screening and dialogue with home office regarding Resicom’s process, standards and expectations.
4. Selected vendor receives the work order from Resicom and is provided with additional information and specifications needed to complete the work order.
5. Resicom confirms that scope and schedule date is understood and establishes parameters for technician to submit information regarding completed project.  
6. Project Manager remains in constant communication with technician to ensure that deadlines will be met.  
7. When job is completed, Project Manager receives photos (per our discussed standards) within 24 hours of the job completion.
8. Project Manager audits project, and confirms satisfaction with appropriate store management.  

Summary

No matter where a work order originates, Resicom is able to execute project completion that is consistent with our standards.  Utilizing the established information and training we have available, Resicom is able to perform our thorough processes efficiently and in rapid response to the emergency work order.  Our client was able to place their confidence in our systematic approach to project management. 

Resicom dispatches our technicians nationwide to perform preventative and emergency maintenance.  As our crews travel extensively throughout the country for project execution, there was a subsequent need to effectively manage our overnight accomodation expenses.  Therefore, Resicom developed a partnership with a hotel chain to keep travel costs low and effectively transfer the savings as decreased quotes to our clients.

The scope of work needed to execute this project:

1. Find nationwide hotel chains that had specific amenities that would benefit our traveling crews as well as Reward Point Programs.
2. Gather information about the chains for comparison.
3. Finalize account with selected hotelier that provides significant discounts when numerous stays are reserved.  

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1.  Finding a hotelier that met our needs in regards to both locations and amenities available.
2.  Negotiating with the chain for the maximum nightly and length of stay discount while establishing that Resicom would fulfill minimum stay expectations.
3.  Ensuring that the hotel chain management was consistently accommodating and user-friendly, and did not escalate workload for busy home office support booking or modifying travel.  

Solution

Several hotel chains met our criteria, but we needed to ensure we were “getting in bed” with the ideal partner.  We wanted to capitalize the benefits of our extensive travel, while effectively transferring the savings onto our clients to drive down their overall costs.  

Our solution for the project included:

1. Reaching out to several potential hotel chains to compare locations, amenities, discounts, and reward offer programs.
2. Scheduling meetings and establishing correspondence with regional hotel sales representatives to discuss details of such a partnership.
3. Providing target list of frequently visited locations and itemized travel dates to negotiate larger discounts.
4. Creating a program with determined partner whereas 7+ day stays at one location would result in greater percentage discount. 
5. Utilizing the hotelier’s direct bill capability to streamline invoice payments, thus saving time for our home office support staff.
6. Becoming experts with the hotel chain’s online booking engine, increasing efficiency when booking travel for our crews.

Summary

Resicom’s process of using in-house technicians on a national scale provides an exemplary level of accountability and capability.  Resicom’s nationwide presence and consistent workload allowed us to leverage our buying power into a 18% discount on all hotel stays throughout the country.  We were able to capitalize on rewards programs for added benefits of free stays, airlines miles/credits, and gift cards to major home improvement stores.  These benefits and accrued savings allowed us to increase margins, thereby passing said savings to current and future clients.

A retailer had furniture placed outside of their storefront that was meant to serve as visual props as well as function as a place for customers to sit and relax.  The furniture was secured to the floor by a system that was easily disengaged, consequently allowing the pieces to move around and damage the painted floor.  The client wanted to eliminate the movement as well as minimize any risk of theft.   The new system needed to be virtually unseen by the casual observer.  Resicom was contacted to develop a solution.    

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Complete reconnaissance work to gather information on the construction of the furniture as well as the floor.
2. Develop and test a prototype system that kept the furniture from moving and helped prevent theft.
3. Install the prototype at a location to monitor the success of the system.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. The system needed to be hidden from the customer’s view.
2. The system needed to serve both purposes – prevent movement and deter theft.
3. The modification of both the furniture and the floor needed to be kept to a minimum.
4. The prototype needed to be fabricated.
5. The prototype had to be initially tested offsite before it could be installed and tested at an actual store.

Solution

Resicom understands the importance placed on the storefront by our clients, as prospective shoppers often make their decision whether or not to enter the store based on visual assessment.    The system we were developing needed to be unobtrusive and remain virtually unseen by the customer, yet the functionality of the securement must be to the standards of the client. Our solution for the project included:

1. Purchased a piece of furniture for testing purposes similar to the one the client was asking us to secure for testing purposes.
2. Developed drawings and worked with a metal fabricator to develop (2) different prototypes.
3. Developed a system to supplement the fabricated prototypes to help deter theft.
4. In our Training and Test Facility we installed each prototype on the test chair and documented the installation process (written with photos).  We also installed the exact flooring of the porch used at the client’s storefront so that the test was consistent with actual conditions and specifications.  
5. We then performed several tests reenacting the types of everyday use and abuse the furniture was likely to receive and documented how well each prototype performed.
6. We provided all data to the client for their review and for decision. 

Summary

The client felt confident in our abilities to design a solution that could be easily installed and meet all of the objectives, thus allowing us the creative license to devise a solution without pre-determined parameters.  Resicom leveraged our Training Facility in order to reenact real world scenarios and thoroughly document processes to provide thorough information to the client.  By providing this information to the client we were able to put them in a position of choosing the best option to implement as an “in-store” test thus keeping their project cost to a minimum.  The prototypes have all been installed and the test continues to operate successfully.  Resicom expects the client to roll out the solution to all facilities nationwide in the near future.

The best laid plans quickly go astray when Mother Nature decides to interfere.  Emergency repair projects don’t wait for rain to stop or snow to subside.  Resicom understands that breakdowns at facilities occur at any time, and in any weather.  Due to the urgency of emergency projects, Resicom has had several occasions that we were required to find solutions for project execution despite inclement weather.  Whether snow, ice, sleet, flooding, rain or hurricanes, Resicom can rely upon our detailed project management process to respond without disruption to the project.

The scope of work needed to execute these project included:

1.  Being alert to weather conditions in both the project city as well as areas en route when traveling by car  and/or plane.  

2.  Requesting the clients’, suppliers’ and/or security company’s procedures regarding  inclement weather.

3.  Verifying that all safety procedures set forth by Resicom and the client are relayed and understood by our  technicians.  

4.  Understanding the finite deadlines of a project, and determining what must occur at all costs to meet the  client’s expectations.  

Challenges

The constraints of these scenarios included:

1.  Realizing that on numerous occasions, Resicom has no control over procedures dealing with inclement  weather.  Examples of this may include airlines not being able to disembark passengers when lighting is  present, or malls closing due to the possibility of extreme weather.

2.  Clients that are located thousands of miles away from a particular job-site sometimes do not fully  understand the weather situation.

3.  Predicting weather is not a exact science and what should be a beautiful day can quickly  turn into a day of  downpour in the Midwest.

Solutions

Resicom understands that to provide value to our clients, projects are executed quickly, and the original schedule must be maintained at all costs whenever possible.  By determining methods to not allow extreme weather to disrupt project execution, we can distinguish ourselves over the competition.

1.  We have trained all of are employees how to best utilize weather websites such as Weatherchannel and 

Weatherbug.  Our technicians can access these websites using their company smart phones for real time  information.   

2.  Having home office confirm with airlines website the status of departing and arriving flight  prior to  every major project to give our clients the most up to date information about possible  delays.  

3. Having material delivered to hotel or other locations for pickup in situations that we are  delayed  due to  weather.  Suppliers are often receptive to delivering materials at different  locations or even leaving at rear  entrances.

4.  Having generators ready to be deployed incase electricity is not available for any amount of time.

Summary

Mother Nature is not easily deterred.  However, with detailed management, along with effective tools and process reinforcement for our technicians, Resicom can be relied upon for project performance and doesn’t leave our clients caught out in the rain.

Our clients looks to Resicom to provide first response service when something goes wrong at their facility.  Resicom needs to be able to dispatch technicians immediately so that our clients experience as little disruption as possible to their business.  Resicom has developed an action plan that can be set into motion as soon as a client says “Help!”.

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Work order is received from client including the location, scope of work, DNE and deadline required for completion.
2. The work order is reviewed by the maintenance team to determine if an onsite visit will be needed prior to completion of job.
3. The scheduling of manpower is determined.
4. All material and equipment necessary to complete project is ordered. 
5. Client is notified of schedule date.
6. Ensure technician arrives on jobsite with all proper material ready to execute and complete project.

     7.  Project manager confirms completion of job with technician.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. Because of the unscheduled nature of the emergency request, technicians may be committed to other projects.

 Our solution to this project included:

1. As soon as work order is received it is reviewed and accepted within 1 hour.
2. A project manager is assigned to job.
3. The proper technician is determined depending on the speciality need for the scope of work provided.
4. Home office works to rearrange master schedule to have the proper technicians onsite for the particular trades needed to complete the project.  
5. All materials/equipment needed to complete work is ordered. If there are any extended lead times on material the client is notified immediately if this will delay the work being completed per their deadline.
6. Work scope is reviewed with technicians.
7. All trucks are loaded with standard material needed to complete a typical work order. 
8. Technician arrives to job on time per the schedule date given.
9. Work is completed, after photos are provided to client, and job is invoiced.

Summary

Because of the compressed project deadline as well as the urgency to return the facility to normal working condition, Resicom must be able to offer immediate response.  At Resicom, we understand the expectations of our clients and how important it is to meet the deadlines that have been assigned. In order to accomplish this would take proper planning, organization, and execution.

In response to a difficult economic outlook, a retailer that we consistently service needed to revise their maintenance strategy.  Our client’s emphasis on brand protection and customer shopping experience remained a priority, but their restricted maintenance budget was now also a factor.   Resicom helped devised a solution to orchestrate bundled preventative maintenance work orders or  “Mini-PMs” to drive down costs for the client.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Client identified 100 flagship stores that would continue to receive preventative maintenance as usual without disruption.
2. Second tier stores were identified together by region and client supervisors would provide PM assessment rather than incur the cost of having our technicians complete the walk-through.
3. Complete specified Mini PM work provided from client to standard. 
4. Take before and after pictures of all the completed items for the client. 

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. All work needed to be completed by the second week of August.
2. Security needed to be coordinated with some of the projects.
3. Some of the projects being completed coincided with other projects previously scheduled.
4. Materials for Mini-PMs were shipped directly from client to store and were often difficult to track.  

Solution

Understanding that the client was trying to keep their stores up to standard with a limited budget, we came up with multiple ways to complete the work within monetary constraints. 

Our solution to this project included:

1. Setting a schedule that made sure that the projects were completed by the set deadline.
2. Stores were grouped together by region to effectively coordinate Mini-PMs to several stores, or several work orders were grouped together for one specific store.
3. We contacted all the correct personnel, store and mall, to make sure that everyone was informed and the projects ran smoothly.
4. Using the pictures taken both before the project was started and after, we were able to audit the work completed and confirm that it was up to the standard of the client.
5. We followed up with the managers of the stores the day after all scheduled projects to confirm that they were content with all work completed.   
6. Our home office support played an important role in coordinating material tracking and acting as liaison between stores and technicians.

Summary

Resicom is a company that provides options to our clients.  A budget for the execution of full-scale Preventative Maintenance work orders at every store was simply no longer feasible for our client.  Resicom was willing to work with our client to create a solution that kept their stores still looking their best within a restricted budget.  Resicom executed the work orders within the time frame that was given to us by our client. And, even though we were on a such tight deadline, the high quality of work that is our standard was not compromised in anyway.  

Our hotel client had an upcoming event reserved for a 400 guest wedding. A week and a half before the wedding, the bride and her family dined at the hotel’s restaurant. Excited about her upcoming reception, the bride asked the manager to allow her party a sneak peek at the room. The manager had to then explain how the hotel had a burst pipe the day before and that the scheduled room was completely destroyed. The conversation that resulted could have been an episode of a hysterical bride screaming at her vendor on the hit t.v. show “Bridezillas”.

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this project:

1. Remove water and all damaged finishes – flooring, wall, trim, and some drywall.
   
2. Acquire all the material necessary to replace.
   
3. Replace all carpet, padding, trim, and wallpaper.
   
4. Repaint ceiling and trim.
   

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. Technicians could not work during hours when other, unaffected banquet rooms had events.
2. Replacement carpet was not in stock.
3. The available routes to the dumpster were through the main lobby or down the main corridor of rooms.
4. The bride was on the phone with the hotel manager every couple of hours adding pressure with each call.

Solution

Our solution for the project included:

1. Coordinated with hotel banquet team to establish hours of work.
2. The project was in the midwest. Because the carpet distributor located in North Carolina, could not get the materials sent on time to meet project deadlines, Resicom dispatched a truck to pick up the carpet ourselves.
3. We scheduled debris removal and material delivery according to the hotel schedule. Overnight, we would allow our tradesmen access through the mostly empty lobby. During normal work hours, we utilized the corridor route to limit disruption to guests.
4. We broke out our crews into four distinct teams, each with a separate start and finish time to establish project management clarity, as well as improving our ability to update information.
5. We reported an hourly update of the project status so the hotel manager could relay the information to reassure their client.
6. We organized the workflow of the project differently from the typical execution of a beautification project. There is a certain order of the work that is followed to limit risk of damage to finished areas and improves productivity. In this case, the goal of streamlining productivity was secondary. Our mission was to get the job done on time, not necessarily executed in the proper order.

Summary

This project involved a rigid deadline with expensive repercussions for our client if it was not met. We understood the pressure and designed a way to successfully meet the deadline while maintaining effective communication updates. By assigning the project components to different team leaders, even though they were all in one room, we established a different approach to project management. We had to organize the tradesmen to understand that on this project, the typical way to execute a project was not the right way. This thinking went against everything their experience taught them. This multiple mini-team approach enabled us to manage the tradesmen and ensure that they understood our approach and why it would ultimately make the project a success.

Emergencies always happen at inopportune times, usually the time of occurrence dictating the sense of urgency.  Upon preparing to start their business day, a retail client realized that an after-hours heavy leak had occurred during the night, and continued to create damage, originating from an unknown third party store above.  Resicom was immediately contacted to handle the emergency assessment.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this assessment of the leak:

1. Immediately dispatch 2 technicians to the store to meet the opening duty manager.  
2. Contain the leak so that the store will be able to operate business as usual with little to no disruption to customers and staff. 
3. Technicians to assess and document damage via photos, in order to prepare the repair uote that will be presented to the responsible party. 
4. Subsequent repairs to surrounding area will be scheduled after source of leak is repaired and proposal is approved by client.
5. Have technicians meet with mall operations manager and/or mall maintenance manager to relay situation.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. The leak occurred outside of regular business hours and damage was extensive by time the problem was discovered.  
2. Tenants above client refused to accept responsibility for the situation.     
3. Mall personnel is unreceptive to acting as liaison between client and tenant where leak originated to assist client in recouping monetary damages.    
4. Leak resulted in water accumulating in cash wrap area and into some open fitting rooms, resulting in store being unable to open for normal business hours.   
5. Repairs need to be completed after hours to eliminate disruption to already delayed business day.   

Solution

We understood that the execution of this project would require rapid yet thorough planning.  In addition Resicom would be responsible for the coordination between different parties while  properly assessing leak and conducting repairs in a timely manner.   Our solution to this project included:

1. Technicians immediately dispatched to temporarily contain leak with buckets and diverters to prevent further damage to surrounding area.  Mess in area is removed and cleaned.   
2. Mall operation manager and/or mall maintenance manager were requested to store to assess leak and determine the source.
3. Technicians traced area through the ceiling to determine leak source and documented area with photos.
4. Technicians questioned tenants above to determine if leaks had been reported or noticed, and to investigate pipe location above client’s retail facility.  Standing water was discovered in facility  above as the opening manager was dispensing with the mess.  Although too late to take photos, technicians did secure name of manager and document that water had been present prior to opening of business.  
5. Detailed photos were recorded to assist damage assessment and quote preparation.
6. Resicom’s home office support team initiated dialogue between responsible tenant GM discussing how technicians believed source of the leak to be their responsibility when search ceiling area.  Tenant’s independent plumber confirmed our findings.   
7. Resicom’s prepared quote was approved and 2 nights for repair work was scheduled at client’s facility.  

Summary

We understood the importance of quick responses, photos and names of authority as necessary steps to solve greater issues.  By properly addressing the issue with photo proof and a valid witness we were able to execute repairs quickly and efficiently. 

A retailer had an exterior storefront that received direct sunlight during the majority of the day.  The window frames, millions, and sills had originally been painting with the same black paint used on the interior storefront windows.  However, the paint had faded over time from the direct sunlight exposure to a medium gray.  In addition to repainting the exterior window frames, the retailer requested that the new black paint selected would prove more weather/sunlight resistant than the original, yet still be a cost effective option.    

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this conversion:

1. Protect all storefront surfaces not being painted (brick and stone)
2. Prime and paint all previously painted window surfaces on (30) storefront windows of varying heights.
3. Provide before and after photos of the storefront to the client’s Home Office

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. All work needed to be completed overnight.
2. Some windows were 20 feet above ground level.
3. A new paint spec needed to be sourced that matched the old spec in appearance yet would also provided a more sunlight resistance finish.
4. The storefront needed to return to “ready for business” each morning one hour prior to store opening.
5. The storefront was located outdoors which introduced weather related issues and limitations.
6. Project deadline was set for 2 days. 

Solution

We understood that the client placed extreme importance on their storefront presentation as it provided the first impression to their brand.  The work area needed to be returned to a presentable condition each morning prior to start of business throughout the project’s duration.  In order to meet the deadline, labor would need to be effectively maximized and the overall size and height of the storefront would need to be taken into consideration.  Our solution for the project included:

1. Utilization of a large, maneuverable lift to allow access to several windows by multiple technicians at a time.
2. A new paint with heightened UV protection to help withstand the suns effects and help keep the black paint black for as long as possible was identified and provided to the client for their review and approval.
3. A technician who had specific expertise in painting preparation (taping windows, covering brick and other exposed surfaces, etc.) was added to the project team to facilitate maximum efficiency throughout the crew. 
4. Weather was monitored via internet to prepare crew for any inclement weather which may have affected project deadline.

Summary

Resicom completed all 30 storefront windows within the given 2 day timeframe.  The client conducted an onsite inspection after completion, and was pleased with the color and overall application. The success of the project resulted in Resicom being awarded additional work orders for 4 other locations experiencing similar issues. Furthermore, the client adopted the recommended paint spec for all new store construction going forward.  By understanding the client’s parameters and striving to not just execute a work order, but provide an innovative solution, we were able to not only meet the expectations of the client, but better yet exceed them. 

Resicom has witnessed changes throughout the retail industry for the past 10 years. One of the most notable changes focuses on enhanced security.  In the light of 9/11, requesting access to malls and shopping centers after hours has evolved into a complex, sometimes daunting process.  Common areas once considered public access are now looked upon as potential areas for criminal or even terrorist activity.  Consequently, restriction to these areas has increased substantially. Property owners, management, and security personnel require comprehensive information regarding not just our technicians but also regarding our company in general, where in the past such requests were simply not a part of the process.  Our task became to supply the requested information readily and efficiently, without disrupting the overall project execution or deadline.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this task included:

1. Obtain all pertinent background information on our employees, subcontractors, and their technicians without violating any privacy laws.
2. Design and create a streamline identification systems for our employees and technicians.  This systems had to be be easily verifiable through our home office or 24 hour hotline.
3. Distribute all new ID’s and procedure documentation to individuals throughout the country.  
4. Establish renewal date guidelines to review all issued IDs.

Challenges

The constraints of this task included:

1. The collection of information that some individuals might consider private, and therefore be reluctant to release.  
2. Obtain proper verification of information provided ensuring government compliance, while following guidelines established by our clients.
3. Obtain consistent photos of individuals produced with different cameras, and then establish process by which to transfer photos to new identification cards.  
4. Educating all employees and technicians as to the need for such new procedures, and demonstrate the value as to how the process will improve the service and performance we offer to our clients.

Solutions

We understood increased visibility of credentials of our employees and technicians was not optional with the climate that was created after 9/11.   Our solution included:

1. Informing all employee that information obtained was a prerequisite for Resicom to continue servicing the retail maintenance industry.  
2. Obtain proper verification of information provided ensuring government compliance, while following guidelines established by our clients.
3. Obtain consistent photos of individuals produced with different cameras, and then establish process by which to transfer photos to new identification cards.  
4. Educating all employees and technicians as to the need for such new procedures, and then demonstrate the value as to how the process will improve the service and performance we offer to our clients.
5. Create forms that were easy to comprehend and complete, returnable via email and downloaded to our database efficiently.  Detailed instructions on how to obtain photos utilizing various PC and Mac programs were also provided.
6. Establishing set procedures and deadlines for when all information needed to be reviewed and when new ID’s would be issued.
7. Education of additional office staff to support and handle this new division of operations.

Summary

When unpredictable events occur, ramifications to our industry, economy and even our society result.  Resicom’s ability to adapt quickly to a new dynamic allowed us to keep operating at business as usual.  By creating a systematic approach to how we needed to gather the required security information, we where able to furnish ID’s to all employees and technicians within a few weeks.

A clothing retailer with a AAA level store discovered mold in one of their fitting rooms and in part of the stockroom.  Although the source of the leak was promptly identified and repaired, a mold remediation company was contracted to quarantine the problem areas, identify sections with dangerous contaminants, and remove.  Resicom needed to immediately execute drywall replacement and any other subsequent repairs since the closed areas were adversely affecting the overall amount of working store space and also restricting the amount of merchandise displayed on the sales floor.

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included:

1. Plan site visits to determine exact repair and replacement needs.  Include photos.
2. Prepare accurate quote for project scope.  
3. Establish schedule for crews accounting for execution time, manpower and materials needed. 
4. Order project materials from specific vendors.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included:

1. Prerequisite site visit in Dallas, Texas had less than 24 hours notification. 
2. Project needed to be cost effective for client, yet completed within 3 nights.   
3. Coordinating material purchase through multiple vendors and requiring same or next day delivery.  
4. Because of the emergency nature of this project, many of our crews were already committed to other projects.
5. Concerns that by lengthening our personnel’s work week, crews may be over-extended and less effective.  

Solution

Completing this project effectively for the client required precise planning and execution.  The deadline was set for completion at the end of the week with no margin for flexibility.  Our solution to this project included:

1. A project manager was tapped to complete site visit on short notice.  
2. Material orders were placed with multiple vendors on the same day as the site visit to save time and scheduled to ship ground vs. overnight to save expense.  
3. Corporate office expedited arrangements of crew assembly, travel, and lodging and security.
4. Crews were shifted with other teams reserved for a pending project.  
5. Back up crew members and local subcontractors were utilized to keep teams fully staffed and not over-extended.   

Summary

The damage to the store resulted in a loss of business to the client.  The store was entrusted to us to complete all repairs within a week.  We reacted immediately and this enabled us to save money on the shipment of the  project materials from the suppliers.  Precise planning, supervisors provided detailed procedure outlines and instructions, and the overall rapid execution allowed us to complete the project within the desired three nights. 

Resicom, which primarily conducts commercial facility maintenance, decided to focus on active growth of our residential division by implementing a mail-out marketing campaign.  The campaign would target residential properties for exterior painting projects, introducing our company and the renovation/remodeling and repair services we provide.  

Scope

The scope of work needed to complete this campaign:

1. Create a pertinent, attractive mailer that not only introduced our company but was an actual project proposal with individualized pricing. 
2. Acquire all the material necessary to create a bound, professional marketing piece.
3. A goal of 3,000 mailers per week was established.
4. Deadline was set to have all proposals mailed by end of July so that external painting projects could be executed during optimal summer months.
5. Determine the amount of labor that would be required to produce and package each proposal.

Challenges

The challenges of this project included:

1. Traditionally, mailing campaigns have a low rate of return at only 1-2%.  
2. Resicom has only one binding machine in our possession. 
3. Allocation of current Resicom employees for proposal production would be limited as they were responsible for maintaining a high level of service to existing clients.  
4. Materials would be need to be purchased in bulk to be cost effective.

Solution

Rather than rely on a general introduction piece that would be easily dismissed and discarded, we decided to create an actual proposal for individual homeowners.  This required additional preparation work as we would need to have experienced employees first travel to targeted neighborhoods and establish the pricing structure per house.  Once researched, we created a professional proposal to submit to specific homeowners by name.  Temporary help was contracted to produce the marketing pieces with assembly line efficiency.  Required materials were researched and price compared so that suppliers that dealt in bulk purchasing could be contacted.

Our solution for the project included:

1. Creating personalized proposals based on neighborhood reconnaissance.
2. Utilizing a database company to provide names and addresses of homeowners in targeted neighborhoods owning houses that were older than 5 years, thereby increasing chances that exterior painting would be needed.  
3. Material purchasing was coordinated through multiple suppliers to obtain necessary materials required at value pricing.
4. A second binding machine was located and loaned to our company for the duration of the campaign.
5. Temporary staffing was secured and a labor schedule was created to maximize efficiency.

Summary

This marketing campaign was a tremendous undertaking and needed to have a detailed execution plan to meet our goals.  We believe that the extra time required to research specific project scopes increased our overall response rate by adding value to our marketing proposals.  

An existing client is a nationwide retailer whose facilities have a sales floor/ fitting room layout containing a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 16 mirrors systems.  Each mirror system weighed between 100 to 220 pounds.  The entire mirror system consisted of the brushed metal frame, pressboard backing, and the mirror itself.  All mirrors had originally been secured to the walls with a two bracket system centered in the back the mirror.  This system was unreliable and had caused failures that had resulted in safety concerns and lawsuits.  The retailer had a redundant teether mirror restraint installed throughout the country to eliminate this problem.  Although the new redundant system eliminated the failures of the mirror frame failing, it did not address the hazards of the mirror itself. 

Scope

The scope of work needed to execute this project included

1. Design a redundant system that holds the mirror itself in place.
2. Manufacture the new redundant system from the same material as the frame.
3. Illustrate to the client that the current system does not address all the potential hazards of the mirror system.

Challenges

The constraints of this project included

1. Designing and manufacturing a redundant system that would be approved by the retailer’s visual team, and would not be a distraction to customers utilizing the mirror.
2. Convince the retailer how the current redundant system failed to solve the comprehensive problem with the mirror system.  This conversation would prove challenging due to the fact that the original system had already been completed nationwide at significant expense to the client. 

Solution

We understood that the first step in solving our client’s potential liability was to illustrate that the risk did in fact still exist.  Broaching the subject was awkward considering that we participated in the original redundant system installation.  However, we knew it was in the best interest of the client to address this potential problem.  

1. We conducted dozens of field checks at our client’s facilities to confirm that this potential problem did exist.  
2. We obtained measurements and material information for the mirror system.  
3. We designed and manufactured a system that could be installed with the current mirror frame system, using the same screws and entry points.  
4. The new system was constructed of the same material as the frame and had a profile of a 1/2 inch on both the top and bottom of the mirror.  This small profile was virtually unnoticeable to the customer.

Summary

We understood that initiating this particular topic with a large, existing client would be difficult, but remaining silent would violate one of our core principles of clear and courageous communication.  We spent a significant amount of resources to obtain the necessary data, and then in designing and manufacturing a solution prior to having the green light to execute the initiative.  We made this investment knowing that it was in the best interest of our client to have this information, in order to have available options to decide what course of action to take, if any.  Our solution was reviewed, but never implemented.
