Resicom Seeks Marketing Interns

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Resicom believes in the bold pursuit of what normal should be.

It should be normal that the companies you hire make you better.

It should be normal that the people you bring into your organization strengthen your company.

This purpose breathes throughout the company and directs how we approach both client relationships and recruiting talented professionals.  This message needs to resonate in not only our actions, but also our strategic marketing goals.

Resicom is now actively recruiting marketing interns to help us expand projects as defined by our current marketing objectives.  The purpose of the internship program at Resicom is to provide an authentic work environment in the profession as an enhancement to the student’s academic instructions. Interested applicants should send letter of interest and resume to likemindedpeople@resicomonline.com.

A secondary journalism internship is also available to help with writing efforts for press releases, blog posts, and copywriting for support materials.

“Our expanded internship program is something about which we are very enthusiastic,” says Laurie Ledonne.  “Resicom is able to position students and recent graduates to gain valuable insight to not just our industry, but marketable business skills.  In turn, the students provide members of Resicom’s team the opportunity to strengthen their team leadership and project management skills, while offering fresh perspective to our marketing projects and materials.”

Are you creating success?

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Opportunities need the right people with the right resources to be realized. This cannot be understated. Too many companies do not properly prepare their people for success. They typically under-train and under-support the very people they expect to deliver results. The logic does not add up. The end result includes disengaged people doing things well below their potential. It is not sustainable.

I believe the focus of management needs to be on removal of obstacles. It should be normal for companies to provide their people with the resources needed to be successful. If the right tools are given to the right people, great things can happen.

Equip them, then get out of their way!

Not So Fast…

Friday, July 9th, 2010

So many people are in a rush – to get somewhere, to get something done, to clear their list of things to do. We live in an efficiency driven world. This is understandable, as it gives us the satisfaction of accomplishing something. My struggles with this are when people are so focused on getting the item done, rather than on getting it done well. How many times do we check something off of our list as done that was not done up to our capabilities?

It should be normal to give yourself the time needed to think to make smarter decisions. I am not suggesting that every decision needs to be pondered, rather I believe that if there are added risks or lost opportunities if a task is underperformed, then take the time to do it right.

Admittedly this is nothing new. But then again, what really is new? Taking time to do things well gives us a sense satisfied accomplishment, rushing through can leave us feeling unfulfilled. Make yourself happy, and smell the roses.

Interdependence

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Interdependence. Now there is a word not used nearly enough. People talk about independence quite often. Interdependence is almost never discussed.

Gandhi put it this way “Interdependence is and ought to be as much the ideal of man as self-sufficiency. Man is a social being. Without interrelation with society he cannot realize his oneness with the universe or suppress his egotism. His social interdependence enables him to test his faith and to prove himself on the touchstone of reality.”

Pride can cause us to view needing others as a sign of lacking. This view is limiting. Interdependence allows us to do more of what we are great at. It should be normal to embrace our need for relationships and realize our critical role in moving them forward. Dig deep and find your strengths.

Alone you can survive. Together we can thrive.

Resicom CEO John Fairclough has been asked to speak as part of a peer panel for the DePaul University Coleman Entrepreneurship Center.

The event is being held Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Naperville campus.

At this event, four seasoned business owners offer their insight to company issues in a town hall-style discussion by integrating their experiences, best practices, ideas, and recommended resources.  Business owners in the audience are encouraged to share their own experiences and thoughts in this open discussion.  The objective is that participants will leave with new ideas and approaches to not only address the challenges you currently face, but also to resolve future issues that may arise.

John is the entrepreneurial founder of Resicom, a dynamic and successful company that believes in the bold pursuit of what normal should be.  It should be normal that the companies you hire make you better.  Resicom embraces its role in client brand and asset protection through facility maintenance and repair.

John continues to evolve in his own role as CEO and company visionary for Resicom.  Since founding the company in 1996 John drives the team to continually examine and fine-tune performance, while providing insightful options and experience upon which clients have come to depend.
