Home Run Defined

Breakdowns in a company are often related to miscommunication and unclear delegation. In order to head off these issues before they become problems, Resicom developed our systematic approach Project Perspectives to organize our great ideas into action plans. Once a topic runs through "Perspectives", tasks are generated and information needs to be organized.

That's where the "What a Home Run Looks Like" tool comes into play.

Make a List, Check it Twice

In order for an improvement initiative to be considered successful, it must have measurable goals.

The tool Resicom uses to build this gradable list is "What does a Home Run Look Like".- a detailed step by step list of how to not just get the job done, but how to hit it out of the park!

The list needs to contain all the stages of the project organized into a sequential list of tasks. If each step on the list is executed, then delegation of the tasks can be deemed both successful and clearly communicated.

What's the lineup?

When do we use "Home Run"? The answer is, when don't we!

Any process, project or procedure that is part of our Resicom community has a Home Run Checklist. How do we post invoices?- there?s a home run list for that. How do we schedule travel for out of town projects?- there's a home run list for that. How does a new technician complete his first preventative maintenance run?- there?s a home run list for that.

Our Home Run lists have become important training resources for both veteran and new employees alike.

When you know exactly what needs to be done, how and when... completing the job becomes as easy as 1, 2, 3.
